1. Who we are

LoveIOU (loveiou.com) is run by X Ma, an individual based in Italy. You can reach us at [email protected]. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean LoveIOU, and "you" means the person creating or buying a gift.

By creating or buying a gift, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use LoveIOU.

2. What you're buying

LoveIOU lets you design a personal set of "love coupons" (for example, a dinner date, a back rub or a day off chores) and send them as a gift. When you pay, you get a private link to your gift. The person you send it to can open it in a browser, add it to their phone's home screen, draw their coupons and redeem them.

A gift is a digital product. Nothing is shipped.

3. Price and payment

• Each gift costs $19.99 USD, paid once (in some countries, checkout shows the equivalent in your local currency). Any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live is added and shown at checkout before you pay.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe's Link service acts as the reseller ("merchant of record") for your purchase. Link charges your card, collects any tax and handles payment questions. Its own terms apply to the payment itself, and the charge appears on your statement as LINK.COM* LOVEIOU.
• We never see or store your full card details.
• We sometimes offer promotion codes. Each code works only as described when we hand it out, and we can end a promotion at any time.

4. Refunds

We offer a full refund within 24 hours of purchase, for any reason. Email [email protected] from the address you used at checkout, or include that address and roughly when you paid. We'll refund the full amount, including tax, to your original payment method. It usually appears within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

Technical problems: if your gift doesn't work because of a fault on our side (for example, the link won't open, or the coupons can't be drawn or redeemed) and we can't fix it, you can ask for a full refund any time within 30 days of purchase. We'll also refund any payment we or Stripe got wrong, such as a double charge, whenever you tell us.

If the law where you live gives you a longer withdrawal or cooling-off period (for example, the 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU and UK), that longer period applies, and nothing in these terms takes it away.

When a purchase is refunded, its gift link stops working, for you and for the person you sent it to.

5. Your content

The names, messages, coupons and photo you put in a gift are yours. You give us permission to store them and to show them to anyone who opens your gift link, only so we can deliver your gift.

Please only add content you have the right to use. That means no photos of other people without their OK and nothing illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit involving anyone who hasn't agreed to it. We may remove a gift that breaks this rule. If we do, we'll tell you why and refund you unless the content was clearly abusive.

6. Keeping your gift private

Each gift link contains a long, random code that can't realistically be guessed. Still, anyone who has the link can open the gift and redeem its coupons, so share it only with the person it's for. If a link gets out by mistake, email us and we'll help.

While you're building a gift, you can come back and edit it in the same browser tab. The secret that lets you edit stays in that tab and is never shown on the gift itself.

7. About the coupons

The coupons are personal promises between you and the person you give them to. LoveIOU is not a party to those promises and can't make anyone keep them. Coupons have no cash value and can't be exchanged for money.

8. How long your gift lasts

We work hard to keep every gift available at least until the expiry date shown on it. Like any online service, LoveIOU may sometimes be down for maintenance or because of problems with our providers. If we ever have to shut LoveIOU down, we'll do our best to give you advance notice at the email you used at checkout.

9. Our responsibility

We provide LoveIOU with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we're not responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably foresee.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived, or our liability for anything that can't legally be limited.

10. Who can buy

You must be at least 18, or have a parent's or guardian's permission, to buy a gift.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown when you bought a gift applies to that purchase. If we make a big change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
